My Summer Bucket List

Hello all, and welcome or welcome back to my blog!

Today I’m gonna share with you guys some of what’s on my summer bucket list! Granted, most of these things will probably end up getting done over the summers to come, but it’s still fun to gather all the things I wanna do into a list!

I’m not much of a list person, if I’m brutally honest. At least not for goals or bucket list type things. But I figured I might as well do it this summer just for the sake of trying it out!

So, without further hesitation, here it is!

  • Go swimming
  • Go to the beach with my family
  • Finish learning French
  • Get into a better habit of doing daily devotionals and reading my bible more often
  • Bake a homemade blackberry pie (for my dad😉)
  • Choreograph numerous dances to some favorite worship songs
  • Re-learn old choreography that my studio used before I was old enough to actually dance it
  • FINISH MY BOOK that I’ve been reading for who knows how long now
  • Curl my hair (weird to have on here, but I’ve never done it before!)
  • Get together with a few friends
  • Actually go to a Youth Group get together / event (been putting this off for way too long…😂)
  • Improve in my artistry for ballet
  • Meet new people at my church
  • Go out to coffee with one of my dear friends and pen-pals
  • Go on a bike ride at sunset with my sister whom I usually go biking with
  • Make my mom gluten-free dairy-free blueberry lemon scones
  • Drive somewhere knew to do some photography
  • Do a ballet photo shoot with my oldest sister
  • Eat corn from our garden
  • Figure out my teaching schedule for ballet
  • Deep clean my room and re-“decorate”
  • Make pop-cycles
  • Go on a run with my brother (because we all know how much I don’t like runs, but desperately need to do them haha)
  • Keep growing and maturing in Christ
  • Work on building friendships with other teens my age
  • Bake chocolate chip cookies
  • Visit my oldest sister at her work
  • Buy a new tank-top
  • Continue to not like coffee

And there you go! A list of some summer goals / my summer bucket list. Hopefully I’ll get to do a part 2 showing you guys what I actually was able to do, after summer is over!

I want to say that I hope you guys cherish the time that you have with the people you love; whether it be family or friends! God is so good, and has placed us in the lives of those around us for a reason. And even if we don’t know that reason, we can take heart in the fact that He does, and that’s all that matters. We all have a different purpose, and a different calling. And if you aren’t quite sure what that is yet, that’s ok. The Lord will lead you where you need to be!

Thanks for reading this post, and I hope you guys have a great weekend! ❤

How is your summer going? What are some of your summer goals? Do you have any special plans for this summer? Let me know in the comments!

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.  He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples

      1. Whaat? You didn’t know this about me? Technically I only vaguely recalled this about you. But at least you know I like dark chocolate. 🙂
I’ll admit there have been some points in the Ranger’s Apprentice series where I’ve begun to be like “Well….they make coffee sounds so good!” Then I’m like “nope, uh uh, doesn’t even smell good!”

      2. Haha I guess I didn’t know that fact about you! But I do now XD and yes we both love dark chocolate; it is superior to milk chocolate 😉

Ahh I’ve had that thought as I read through the Ranger books as well 😶 I have managed to keep un-liking coffee tho, which I’m VERY happy about. It helps that I’ve had coffee and know that I really dislike the taste 😂

  1. This is a lovely list! (I especially approve of the last one…coffee is disgusting. 😂)
That’s so cool that you are learning French! I tried my hand at it with Duolingo and quite enjoyed it and then I got shut out of my account. Ahhh well. Perhaps I’ll just make a new one. French is such a beautiful language! Best of luck in learning it!!

    1. Aw thank you Eden!! Yay a fellow non-coffee lover 😆

I am using Education Perfect to learn French! I will have to take a pause on it once school starts up tho, as I will be taking a Spanish class for my official foreign language.
I hope you have a wonderful day, Eden!

  3. These are so fun!! I think I’ll join you on the ‘get a new tank top’ and ‘continue growing closer to God’! Thank you for that lovely little blurb of inspiration! I so need to remember that ‘The Lord will lead me where I need to be!’
I also love your ending verses … they remind me of how important it is to remain in fellowship with other believers! Especially friendships (some of which I realize I have been neglecting, although not on purpose …) … so thanks so much for the reminder! You have an amazing weekend as well, beautiful! 🤗💕

    1. I’m so glad this post was even a little bit inspirational for you, Makayla!
I think we all need to be reminded of how in control the Lord really is! He loves us so much and wants us to have a focus and a purpose.
It’s interesting that you mentioned friendships… I’ve been struggling with friendships lately as well, but more in the way of being able to make new friends who are my age, and be able to trust them!

      1. It totally was, and I absolutely agree with your thoughts!
Yesss, friendships are so wonderful but so much of the time we find ourselves in situations where it’s difficult to communicate, get “in the swing of it”, or even to make time to invest in each other! I find that acting in an understanding and compassionate way towards people I meet, really allows them to feel “safe” with me. Adopting the technique of “listening to THEM first and foremost” from Dale Carnegie’s famous book, “How to win friends and influence people” has been a complete turnaround for my conversations with new friends, or people I don’t know very well. *ramble = ended* 😂 what have you found to help you in your friendships?

      2. Yes I agree! Those are great tips and good things to keep in mind while talking with friends!

Hmm.. I’ve never had to actually “make new friends”, at least at before this year. They were always just sort of there ya know? A big part of that was ballet; I pretty much became friends with whoever ended up being in my class.
But with past friendships etc. I think that communication is KEY. When there is a lack of communication and understanding, things don’t always turn out the best.
I also have seen that having pre-set expectations isn’t good for friendships!
The main thing that I try and keep in mind especially with my Christian friends, is to keep Christ at the center of the friendship. If that is happening, most other things will fall into place!

      3. What you said is really true – I agree, communication is definitely one of the most important things I’ve noticed in my friendships as well. And I love the last two sentence of your last comment – that is totally something I need to remember more often when talking to or hanging out with friends and acquaintances; to keep Christ at the centre. (Thank you for this discussion, Amber! You’ve brought some things to light that I need to work on, and have helped me to get a jump on them!) 🤗💗 have a wonderful day, friend!

      4. I’ve really enjoyed this conversation with you as well! It’s so nice to interact and communicate about common struggles and learn from one another!
Thanks for always being so uplifting and encouraging; I really appreciate it Makayla! ❤
