Ballet update!

Hello guys!

As I’ve mentioned before in this post, I am very busy this month!

But I figured I’d hop on here and tell ya’ll how dance has been going, since rehearsals have started, and the performance is next week! (!!!!!!!!!)

We had our last class of the year on Friday, and it went pretty well! It was a shorter class, and we actually just did a warm up, warm up barre, and then went to doing our dances. It certainly takes a while to work out all the kinks in dances, especially the group ones!

We had our first rehearsal on Monday, and it was a full costume dress rehearsal! A normal rehearsal would consist of all the different levels being there at the same time, and we would basically run through dances like we would for the show. But for some reason this year, each grade had a different rehearsal time and we pretty much just ran dances like we would in class, but in our costumes. For that reason, it didn’t really feel much like a rehearsal to me, but i’m sure it did for others!

I’m so excited for next week, but at the same time dreading it. I know my dances could be so much better if I had more time to practice them. But alas, I don’t! And you gotta just make do with what you’ve got, and pray for God’s strength and safety to get you through!

One of my favorite parts of recital is helping with lower school (girls whose ages range from 3 – 9)! I have been a Teacher Trainee (or TA) for four years now, and I adore it. I love getting to know the girls, and help them grow in their dance and faith! For the lower school portion of recital, the helpers stay backstage with their classes and pretty much just keep them all in one spot, and quiet when the performance starts. Then you kind of do their dance behind the curtain of to the side of the stage, when they’re on stage doing it, in case they forget all the choreography 😉

And of course, overall I just enjoy shining Jesus’ light when I dance and hope to tell people of the incredible love that He has for each and every one of us!!

If you think about it at all, your prayers would be greatly appreciated! It’s been a weird 2 years, and having a recital again has been crazy at times!!!
