Random thoughts

Hello all, and welcome back to Dancing for the holy One! If you’re new to my blog, than hello, I’m Amber! You can check out my about page here!

I wrote this while in the car for a few hours last night, and I decided I’d share my random thoughts with you guys!

Tonight, I’m reminded of the immense glory and wonder of the Lord. Looking up into the sky, I can see little glimpses of the stars through the clouds. What makes them so bright that we are able to see them even from such a far distance? What makes them twinkle the way they do? What makes the stars line up to make amazing constellations?  Some people would say that the universe created it that way. But not me; I say that the Creator of the Heavens and the universe did it. And that He planned it all out, and made things that seem so simple, so complex.

As I look up and see the moon through a gap in the clouds, it occurs to me that it’s almost like how I feel during different times in my life. One moment I can see that beautiful moon so clearly, and I feel as though I could reach out and touch it. The next moment, it has disappeared behind a dark cloud, and I can no longer see it. I know it’s still there, but I don’t feel as though I’m so close to it, as I had before.

In the same way, sometimes my life feels so great, and I’m so thankful for the Lord and His many blessings. But other times, when a storm comes, I feel as though my relationship with Him is so insignificant, and my life is just terrible. But like the moon, I know He is still there. He always has been and always will be. I need to remember that even though my circumstances aren’t the best or most pleasant, that God is still in control, even when I’m not.

God sometimes sends storms our way to teach us and remind us that we can’t handle everything on our own. That we truly are dependent on Him. When things are going good, and we’re feeling like we’re floating on the clouds, it can be hard to remember that NONE of it was our doing. It wasn’t because of us at all!! It was all God and His Grace, Mercy, and wondrous Provision.

Without Him life would quite frankly be a complete mess. There would be no order, no rationality, no moral standard.

Everything that we see is a miracle, created by the One who breathes life into everything. Even little plants move, we usually don’t see it though, because they move too slowly for us to even see over a short period of time. Life is so amazing! All of this was made in 1 week. In 7 days, God created the earth, the heavens (including the sky & the universe), the oceans, the animals, the plants, all of it!

God is SO amazing, my heart hurts when I think and know that there are people out there who don’t know, haven’t heard, have heard and just don’t want to believe it, and those who believe that they do believe it, and think that they’re right with God, but really aren’t. I think a lot of people just don’t understand the depth of having a relationship with Christ. At least a real, genuine relationship with Him, wouldn’t be shallow, but it would be deep and personal. God isn’t just some “energy” or “thing”. He is real, He is loving and caring, full of compassion and mercy, and also full of forgiveness. He loved us so much, that He sent His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him, will not parish, but have everlasting life. All because Jesus paid our dept. I mean, If you’re looking at the 10 commandments, we’re guilty. I’m pretty sure we all have lied, even a small little ‘white lie’!! Some people say “Oh, well I’ve done a lot of good in my life, so it should outweigh the bad.”. But a good and fair judge wouldn’t look at a murderer (for example) and say “You’re right, you’ve done a lot of good, so you don’t have to go to jail”. The bible says that God is a Good and Fair Judge, so He will give us what we deserve.

When Christ died on that cross though, He paid our dept. Say you have a lot of tickets for running red lights, going too fast etc. and you could go to jail because you’ve done the same thing So many times. (I actually looked it up, and it said that three tickets a year are enough to receive a jail sentence in some states.) But, Someone could come in and pay the fee, and then you could go. That’s what Christ did for us, so that when we die we can go and be with God and Christ in heaven.

And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.  These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

1 John 5:11-13

I hope you all realize how important it is that you have a good, strong relationship with the Lord!

  1. I really liked reading these thoughts! It’s cool to get a peek into your mind!! Whenever I see the stars, I’m reminded of hope, because of something my Dad says “It has to get really dark, before you can see the Light.” So when the world is full of darkness, the Light shines brighter.
(And I REALLY like the signout!! Great job, girl!)

  2. This was my favorite post yet! 😊When I’m having a ruff day I look at all of creation and think to myself ‘If God has the power to create all of this ,then He has the power to help me with whatever I’m facing’. So ya, I really enjoyed this post😏 As a side note the stars appear to ‘twinkle’ because of all the particles floating in the atmosphere ; when the particles pass between your eyes and the stars they ‘twinkle’🌟

    1. I’m so glad you liked it!! Haha! Good to know lol. I knew that the stars didn’t ACTUALLY ‘twinkle’ , that it’s just how we perceive it, but I didn’t know the science behind it! ✨✨😁
