Some tips for being more productive with school/studying/homework!

Hey! Today I’m gonna try and give ya’ll some tips on being more motivated/productive with school work! I personally struggle SO much with being productive when it comes to school. The biggest thing for me, is to just start workin’ on school! Warning, I am homeschooled so a lot of these tips are especially great for homeschoolers, or really anyone who devotes a good amount of time to schoolwork when their at home. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyways, I’ll be sharing some tips that might help you, if you’re like me ๐Ÿ˜†

#1 is to set a time to start every morning, and maybe set an alarm for yourself when it’s time to start.

This can really be helpful especially if you don’t want to jump in right away to a full blown schedule. It will also help you get used to starting school at a set time every day, and that way it will become more natural to do.

Next is have a comfortable and inviting space to do your schoolwork!

This can help motivate you and make it more enjoyable and comfortable to get homework/school done! I would also recommend a nice hot cup of tea or hot chocolate (or coffee, but I’m not much of a coffee drinker myself๐Ÿ˜‰), for when you first sit down to start on school! It definitely helps wake your brain up, along with your body.

#3 If you are a music person, you might want to try and play some quiet music while studying/ doing homework etc.

You could listen to instrumental music, worship music, classical music, really whatever helps you focus and also helps you be a bit more motivated to do schoolwork. You could also find some study- with- me videos on youtube if you want! This one is one that I use a lot, and really enjoy. Click here if you wanna go check it out! It has instrumental music, along with a timer for when to stop and take breaks! There are just so many awesome options out there regarding study music!

Speaking of which, taking breaks is so important to do!!

I would recommend taking a 5-10 minute break every hour. This helps you have less physical fatigue at the end of the day, and let’s face it…sitting hunched over schoolwork all day is so uncomfortable!! It’s great to do stretches to help loosen up. You can also go on a short walk, and get a nice breath of fresh air!

#5 is to have a full bottle of water or glass of water with you while you work.

Staying hydrated is very important, even more so when you’re stressed out about school and homework. I personally struggle so so so much with drinking water throughout the day. Drinking water + staying hydrated will help you have more energy, and actually help you be/feel more cheerful!

My last tip is turn off your phone notifications!!!!

Getting side tracked is really really easy sometimes. Especially by social media! Sometimes there are so many Instagram, Facebook, pinterest, & text notifications, that it can be kind of overwhelming. And that’s not exactly the most helpful thing while trying to get schoolwork done. I would recommend not even having your phone with you while you work. But, if you need your phone for some reason (calculator etc.), just turning off your phone notifications, definitely makes a difference.

Which tip was your favorite? What are some things you do to make schoolwork/studying better? Let me know in the comments!

Well, That’s all for today! I hope this post helped you guys out, and I hope you have a great rest of your day!

  1. I definitely struggle with drinking water. I think I drink less than 900ml a day, and sometimes I drink like less than cup LMAOO i have an issue. I agree with all of the tips you’ve mentioned here, and taking breaks was a tremendous help on my side. I don’t think I can ever do anything without a break, even if that break is just me sitting in my chair and staring at nothing :))

    1. Iโ€™m so glad these tips were helpful for you!
I have ALWAYS struggled so much with drinking water too. I usually end up only drinking water when Iโ€™m at ballet๐Ÿ˜‚ which Iโ€™m sure isnโ€™t the best thing lol.
I hope you have a great day!!

  2. These are great tips, Amber! What I generally do to help me stay productive with school is either utilize a productivity timer (Forest and Refocus are good Chrome extensions!) or listen to lofi music (Chillhop is my favorite). I might try using a study with me video this upcoming week. Those are so pleasing to watch. ๐Ÿ˜€
